Service Technician- Atlanta

Job Summary:
This Position performs technical support, mechanical repairs, set-ups and maintenance work on commercial and contractor equipment in a shop environment. This position assists the Service Manager as needed and ensures customer satisfaction by making sure equipment is fixed right the first time, and the repairs get done efficiently and when promised.
Primary Duties:
  • Diagnose, trouble shoot, & repair commercial equipment in a timely manner.
  • Set-up new commercial equipment per operator’s manual & customer requirements.
  • Clean equipment prior to repair work performed.
  • Review customer service history and repair request prior to repair.
  • Make repairs specified on repair orders; follow company procedures for quoting and approval when additional work is needed.
  • Review appropriate technical references before starting unfamiliar jobs.
  • Utilize special tools & equipment as required for set-up or repairs.
  • Create parts list for ordering or for estimates and give to service manager for ordering or estimate approval.
  • Clearly document repair details about the work on the SRO. Details include repair diagnostics, results, SST’s, SRT’s & the three C’s; Complaint, Cause, Correction. Tag & store Warranty parts with SRO #, model serial #, & date.
  • Inspect every piece of equipment after maintenance or repairs are completed using the model specific Toro PDI checklist.
  • Review SRO for completeness and accuracy.
  • Clean equipment after repair or set-up is complete.
  • Review service bulletins and flashes on monthly basis.
  • Assist Service Manager in planning and developing strategies to improve market share, customer relations, productivity, profitability, and our pursuit to CSI to 9+.
  • Must have the ability and willingness to travel with multiple overnight stays via airplane, car, or other appropriate means of transportation for business-related purposes.  This includes but may not be limited to facility and field visits, vendor visits, continued education, and other business-related activities.
Preferred Competencies, Qualifications, and Skills:
  • High School diploma of equivalent.
  • Evidence of specialized education or certification in gas/diesel engine maintenance and repair.
  • At least 2 years similar work as a service technician.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Must have own basic tools including volt meter.
  • Applicants must meet the physical requirements of the position, including, but not limited to standing for entire shift, climbing, lifting, bending, stooping, moving equipment up to 75 lbs., physical labor, etc.
  • Read and interpret documents such as service manuals, schematics, technical documents, and email.
  • Pass the basic technical certifications within 1 year, electrical, four stroke, hydraulic, diesel.
  • Four stroke, Diesel, Driveline, Hydraulics, Electrical, Reel Grinding Basics.
  • Equipment diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with ability to meet deadlines & goals.
  • Highly motivated & organized, accuracy in repair, attention to detail.
